With the Millenium now upon us, marking the 2,000th official anniversary of the birth of Christ, managers might have a more productive and satisfied workforce if they apply Christian principles in the workplace, according to Christian Schumacher. Schumacher is a successful management consultant whose work has been mainly in the field of work organisation, and the author of God is Work. The present crisis, Schumacher argues, stems from the way nature has been ruthlessly exploited to meet our material desires, and industrial work has ceased to reflect Christian theological principles and values.
