The ultimate, yet enigmatic question
"What do you know about training?" was the question posed by a partner in a firm of training consultants. It was a difficult question to answer. The real question was not how to answer but, rather, it was the question.Yet this enigmatic question, launched from a supposed position of superiority, has its parellels in corporate life, often with the human resource/training specialist on the end of it Perhaps the best way to counter unfounded, smug, superiority is to suggest that none of us knows all there is to know about any subject and that we can all benefit by learning something new. Alternatively smile and walk away.
